Bacterial Plaque is a deposite of microorganisms that forms a biofilm on the surfaces within the mouth . The dental biofilm is formed by macromolecules that adhere to the tooth surface by electrostatic forces. Calculus or dental tartar is formed by mineralization of bacterial Plaque and ,it accmulates.
Both on natural teeth and on prosthesis.Differentiation is made between Supragingival Calculas at the margin of gingiva of whitish or yellowish color that is easily removed and subgingival calculas in gingival pocket , which is darker color and is firmly adherent.
Signs of gum disease
You can prevent the more advanced stages of the disease in surprisingly easy ways. Just maintaining a regular brushing and flossing routine goes a long way.
